Question:
does anyone else have this pain?
I have severe pain in my pouch area going into my back. It is very difficult to stand, walk, or do anything except lie on the couch. Any input would be appriciated. thanks, mandi 17 days post-op lap-rny — mandi K. (posted on November 23, 2002)

How does water taste? You might ask the doctor to scope you to see if
there is a problem with your pouch.. such as a stricture.. easily fixed, or
an ulcer.. easily treated if diagnosed early..

Hey, I am 8 days post-op lap RNY. I too have been having hellacious
catches in the same areas as you have mentioned. Doesn't happen unless I
hiccup though. Other than that, i've not had any probs. I've been told
that there will be a period of time before the gas residuals are gone from
surgery. Maybe you still suffer from this too. down 18 # in 8 days!!!!

Hi Mandi! I am a year post op and I know how you 'feel'. I have had those
pains on and off for the entire year since surgery. I have been poked and
prodded, scoped and xrayed. I have even been to another WLS surgeon for a
second opinion. Recently I ended up in the ER twice due to the severe
pain. No one can find any reason what so ever as to why I get this pain.
I hate it but I have resigned myself to the fact that it is just part of
the new digestive system. When I have these pains I eat just jello, broth,
and drink a lot of liquids. Usually I feel better in a few days. I hope
that you find out something, maybe you can share insight with me! Good
luck! Amy
