Question:
I hope no one is offended but

I was wondering if our vaginal openings are getting bigger because of the weight loss. Are obese women tighter because of the fat down there? I'm not sexually active at the moment so I'm a little worried that if I become sexually active it will be like the Grand Canyon echoing back at me. Anyone noticed any changes down there and any of you men notice any difference if your wives have had the surgery. 8 mos p/o -142lbs.    — Alison N. (posted on November 20, 2002)

No, if anything, everything is better down there. If anyone considers MO tighter, it's probably because it's just plain more difficult to get to it. So, when you lose weight (works with your breasts too; smaller the better) you get much more sensation. Fat blocks so much. I am more able to do my own part phsycially, because I am more limber, active and it feels better all around. I have more stamina and strength (even "down there"). The exercising we do will help this as well. It tightens everything! However, if you are concerned, you can do kegel exercises to focus on this particular area. They work.

Even when I lost weight (and gained it all back!)years before sugery, my OB/GYN told me that I had a very small opening. Yay me! Hee hee! So I am not convinced that being tight has anything to do with your weight. However, since I have started loosing weight, my butt and belly aren't so HUGE anymore so he can get closer to me and I am not as high off the bed so he gets more leverage and more sensation. That is the biggest difference.

I am going to a GYN in a couple weeks for this very problem. I have lost 161 pounds so far. At about 6 months we noticed I was getting tighter. Now it is so VERY hard to "get it in". Once in everything is fine. I do not know what the doc. can do but I would like to know why this has happened.

I don't know if it gets tighter... but it sure does feel like my hubby has doubled in size. hehehe.

My husband says it is just the opposite. It is like everything tightened up more. Between that and me now able to wear anything from Victoria's Secret he has been a very happy guy lately.

I've been told we get tighter. The more weight you have on, the more it puts pressure on the pelvic floor and makes it lacken. The less you weight, the tighter those muscles become since you're able to tense it better. Does that make sense? So in reality, we could all become 'virgins' again ;)

Interesting question.....I have found sex better after losing 100 pounds. I figure everything feels "tighter" because I don't have to spread my formerly fat thighs apart as much to let hubby in! Therefore, I assumed that I'm not stretching the vaginal opening open as much.
