Question:
I am down 40 pounds since rny on 9-30-02.
I started at size 24 and am now in a loose 22. Does this seem right for that amount of weight loss. from reading other's posts it seems like I should have lost more sizes. yes I know that everyone is different. Any answers out there? — Lesa H. (posted on November 17, 2002)

that is about how I did it too. It was not till I had lost over 60 pounds
that the sizes really seems to start dropping fast. That is when people
started to see my weight loss too.

I too have had the same problem. I had LAP RNY Oct. 2nd and am down 30.5
pounds. I'm still in a 26. I can get into some of the looser 24's but not
without dipping myself in a batch of crisco. I know exactly how you feel. I
know that eventually it will come off and the clothes sizes will start
dropping faster and faster, but why do we have to wait? But I have a little
more time to save up for a shopping spree at a thin girl store. Hang in
there sweetie!

Hi there. I started out at 303 wearing a 26/28. My surgery was Oct. 15th
and to date I've lost about 35 pounds and 2 dress sizes. I can wear a 22
now and it looks good on me. I have some 20's and I can get them on but
when I sit down they are very tight across my stomach area. I think I may
still have some swelling or else the weight is just going to go away slowly
from my stomach area. I have been pleased with my weight loss. I think
the way your body is built determines the way you drop sizes. I am blessed
to be very proportionate....never been "hippy" or had a huge
stomach. I would like to see my bustline go down a little more. I don't
think it has moved at all. I am still a 46C but I'm trying on that 44C
every day. LOL

This just proves -- everyone is different. I had RNY 9/20/02 (almost 2
months ago) and have lost 30 lbs - but have lost 4 dress sizes. Started
out in 22's and wearing size 16 pants now. My guess is I will stop losing
inches and will lose more pounds.
