Question:
I am allergic to all artificial sweetners
I forgot to mention to the Dr. during the consult that I can not eat or drink ANYTHING with artificial sweetners. Is this gonna be a big problem? — Kimberly M. (posted on November 14, 2002)

Perhaps you can try Splenda, I'm not sure what is in it all, but it is made
from sugar. Or you can visit the health food store, they have natural
sweeteners. One is called Stevia, but don't get the instant tabs, they do
dissolve, but then it has a sediment too.

How about Splenda or plain granulated fructose? Fructose looks and tastes
just like sugar and is actually natural fruit sugar. Check out my profile
page for a link to some recipes. Good luck!

I use something which IS NOT artificial called STEVIA, which can be bought
at any health food store. It's great and does not contain anything
artificial.

You know, back in 1994, there weren't many choices for me, either. But, I
could be allergic to the sweeteners & morbidly or obese OR be allergic
and be a lot smaller. I took my chances, and in the intervening years,
MANY new substitutes have come on the market. I tolerate almost all of
them now, since I am without comorbs.

I second the nomination of Stevia. It is wonderful! I am a pre-op and I
was referred to it by my nutritionist. I use it EVERYDAY! My favorite is
making sugar-free kool-aid with it. REFRESHING!
