Question:
Just curious..
I am almost 5 weeks post-op (9/20/02) from lap RNY and have lost 46lbs. Can I get a "wahooooooo"!? Anyways, I started at 321lbs. and am now at 275lbs. Knowing everyone loses differently, my question is would it realistic of me to think I could have a loss of 80lbs. my Christmas? I am aware that the losing will slow down, but hopefully my body will be kind to me and will get me to goal (160/170) by one year post-op! Thanks for any comments! — karmiausnic (posted on October 24, 2002)

Congratulations on your 46 pounds! Awesome! I think 80 pounds is
realistic for Christmas. The heavier you are the faster you lose. I just
weighed today and my 6 month anniversary is next Tuesday and I'm down 102
pounds - started at 307. I think at my three month mark I had lost 60, but
again you're starting heavier than me, so you'll probably shed the pounds
quicker! Congratulations!

Karen YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are my hero today I had surgery the
same day as you and I have lost around 40 also. I am hoping for 100 at the
6 month mark. I am really working hard for that. I do not own a scale
because I am kind of neurotic about weighing get that panicy OMG feeling
everytime I see one so therefore I do not own one.
Good luck and keep up the FANTASTIC work. I started out at 288 when I
weighed in on surgery day but just a week before that I weighed 296 at the
dr ofc I was so sick and nervous in anticipation of the surgery I lost some
before I went in.
Good Luck Peggy

am 11 months post op now and have lost a total of 135 lbs. Good Luck! I
hope you meet your goal!

Who knows. You certainly have started off great. I started at 346 and
lost 120 pounds by six months. Then it started really slowing down. Good
luck!

started at 320 and was loosing 20lbs a month for 5 months. GOOD LUCK! But
do not be dissapointed ok, everyone looses at different levels. I wanted
to be 180 by Christmas and that is what I weight now! WOOOHOO here too!!

Karen, woohoo to you! Please don't be disappointed if you don't reach an
80 pound loss by X-mas. After all, that is only 3 months post-op. You may
reach it, then again, maybe not until 4 or 5 months post-op. Whenever you
reach it though you will get there..for sure!

That is an awesome amount of weight to loose so quickly. Whether or not you
reach a certain goal, you should be pleased as punch! Good Job!
