Hi - while I'm sure the silicone sheets work great, I prefer the mineral
oil gels. I used these with my last c-section and they are great. Anyway
you can read more about both (what they are and why they work) and get a
list of suppliers at http://www.phudson.com/SCAR/siliconescar.html
Good luck!

I lifted this from www.phudson.com/SCAR/siliconescar.html "For several
years some doctors have tried to treat heavy scar with silicone sheets. It
is not clear how they work but may simply be that they increase the amount
of water in the scar. They seem to be effective in many hypertrophic scars
and may help some keloid scars. The disadvantages include difficulty
getting the material to stick to the skin and skin reactions like rashes
and breakdown. For this reason it is sometimes difficult to get patients to
use the material long enough to get a good result. An alternative which
some patients find effective is to use sheets of mineral oil."
Try www.biodermis.com for silicone sheets, and www.yestheyrefake.net for
other neat stuff. Also I've heard that Arnica Montana (an herb?) can be
used to relieve swelling and bruising and that compression garments are
very good for healing and reducing scars.

I'm not sure if they work. I used them on the huge scar on my arm (not wls
related of course) and although it made my skin feel better it sure did'nt
help the scar's appearance.
