Question:
Questions on vitamins...
Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone has tried the new "Flinstones" chewable calciums? I hate taking so many pills so I take 2 of the Flinstones chewable multis+iron everyday (plus calcium and B12 pills). I haven't liked any other calcium chews out there.I am going to move to B12 shots too to take out one more pill from the daily routine! Thanks for input. — emilyfink (posted on September 13, 2002)

If you've had an RNY just make sure it is calcium citrate and not calcium
carbonate. You can't absorb the carbonate kind. Most of the yummy chewables
are carbonate. I don't know why they don't make some in the citrate--it's
more easily absorbed for EVERYONE, not just gastric bypass patients--and I
would certainly pay more for it. I take the 500 mg capsules or a liquid
calcium citrate. I don't like to take pills either but these work great for
me.

I too take Flintstones chewable Multivitamins, which is instructed to take
them before I go to bed at night. The Calcuim carbonate at GNG is chewable
an is cherry flavored. Taken that twice a day since your body cant absorb
more then 600mg at a time. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work.

I am a registered nurse and have done extensive research on liquid
supplements. I highly recommend "Isotonix" brand for calcium and
multivitamins. They are sold in powder form and consumed in liquid form
after adding water. 1 dose equals only 2 oz. and they taste great too.
The best part is you can expect about 90% absorption within 5 minutes
compared to tablet form with only 0-20% absorption. "Isotonix"
brand makes good common sense! For more info you may contact me at:
