Question:
Are ther any Good Crunchy protein bars??

I read about all the good kinds out there (On the survey taken on this board) but are any of them crunchy? I get tired of mush and just a crunch would be nice.    — Lynne K. (posted on September 11, 2002)

If you can tolerate the sugar and carbs.. LUNA.. they are made with crunchy soy nuts and some with regular nuts too. The Lemon Zest, Orange Zest and Key Lime are quite crunchy. I looove the Toasted Cranberry and Nuts.

hi there. i dont eat too many of these as i really havent been able to find one that isnt gross to me. ive heard the ones with the highest protein and lowest carbs are the best for us health wise but tastes not so good sometimes. ive found one i really do like. its called atkins endulge caramel nut chew. i bar is 140 calories is 1.23 oz in size.protein 6g, sugar 1g,dietary fiber 1g,sugar alcholol 15g total carbs 17g but label says to count only 2g of carbs as all other carbs have minimal impact on blood sugar.i dont know if this applies to the weight loss part of it or not or if this just applied to diabetics. this bar is also sweetened with splenda. i never over do it on sweets so i dont know if i dump or not but this bar didnt bother me at all.splenda is a really good artificial sweetner.

Strive. High pro, low sugar. has crunchy dealies in it, reminds me of rice krispies? Something like that. Miexed barry in a yogurt base. Haven't tried the S'mores yet, nor the choc rasp. Going to, though.

I have been eating Nutrilite Trim Advantage Protein bars and the are delicious. However, we ordered a new flavor and it say 4 grams of available carbohydrates. On the back it says 20 grams, 16 of which are glycerin and maltitol which have a minimal effect on blood surgar/glucose level. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

I have to agree with previous posters. I have tried every protein bar under the sun and will only eat those that are crunchy. The best I have found are Strive and Luna. The Strive have more protein than the Luna, but are a little harder to find and a little more expensive. The advantage of the Luna bars is that they come in so many flavors. If you are really sensitive to sugar, the Luna may not be the right bar for you, though. I eat one every day. My favorites are Chocolate Pecan Pie and Smores.

Nutz over chocolate by LUNA tastes like a rice crispy treat with a thin layer of chocolate. I love these and believe me there are very few protein bars that I like. I have one of these every morning.

Strive dark chocolate rasberry and Strive mixed berry are like rice krispy treats. Luna bars are some of my favorite too. I've tried Luna, lemonzest, orange bliss, nutz over chocolate, and smores, luv 'em all.

CLIF makes a less-sweet crunchy type protein bar called Mojo. It comes in flavors like Curry Cashew and Barbeque. They have about 6-9 g sugar and about 10-15 g protein. I liked them! I found them at our Whole Foods grocery store (kind of like a big health food store). These are really different from the usual protein bar!

Geni-Soy has a protein bar that is crunchy and it tastes like a candy bar. I have tried every protein bar and I pretty much hate them all. They taste like I'm eating wax or something. I have spent a small fortune searching for a protein bar that taste good. Most of them are between 1 and 2 dollars each. The Geni-Soy is only 99 cents each. I found them in a health food store and they have a chocolate one that is very crunchy and is just like eating a candy bar. Give that one a try.

Zone Perfect - Fudge Graham. Chocolate outside ... soy nuggets (like rice krispies) inside. 16 grams protein & only 12 grams of sugar. I eat one everyday for breakfast .... yummy! My second favorite is Luna Smores but it is a bit too sweet for breakfast(although it too only has around 12 grams of sugar). I usually eat the Luna Bar as a dessert/snack when I am really craving something sweet.
