Question:
What is the calorie/fat count in 93% lean hamburger?
Hamburger seems to be the only meat that I can tolerate (I am 7 weeks post-op) but I am concerned about the amount of fat. — Penny D. (posted on September 8, 2002)

Take a look at fitday.com, they have a lot of information on different
foods. Here is what I found there for your question.
Beef, ground, extra lean, cooked, broiled, medium
Amount Per 1 oz
Calories 72.53
Calories from Fat 41.64

Penny, I don't have the answer to your question, but what about ground
turkey or ground steak?

Hi. Our supermarket marks their hamburger with nutrition information
labels. For their 93% lean hamburger, it says a 4 oz cooked serving is 160
calories. I don't recall how much fat, though. JK, RN

Penny, I'm always surprised that anyone is concerned about "fat"
in foods anymore???? I thought that whatever fat we eat (half or more of
it?) goes out in our stool. Perhaps I'm wrong. I sure don't worry about
"fat". It's carbohydrates that worry me. I've ate plenty of meat
and have lost alot of weight and kept my protein up.
