mine was 7 hours because I had a stomach stapling surgery 21 years ago so

Lap RNY- 4 1/2 hours. But since your knocked out, doesn't make much of a
difference how long....

I had Lap RNY on April 9, 2002 and it lasted 1 1/2 hours and that included
gall bladder removal. I had my leak test the next morning and came home
the next morning. My mom just had surgery Friday and hers lasted about 3
hours but they also repaired an hiatal hernia. I think it depends on the
doc and the problems once they get in. Best of luck. RK

My Mom thought my surgeon said it was around 4-4.5 hours for mine.... which
seems a bit long. (Open RNY May 8-01).
However since I've never had any surgical complications (that is no
stictures, ulcers ect) I'm happy! Glad it was a long surgery! ;)
