Anyone ever had bloodclots in their lung prior to surgery

I had been hospitalized in late January with blood clots in both lungs. I
underwent heparin therapy in the hospital and then was switched over to
Coumadin. I'll be on Coumadin for the rest of my life. My WLS was on
7/17 - I stopped my Coumadin 5 days prior to my surgery on the orders of my
PCP. My Protime was still high enough on the day of my surgery that they
didn't want to risk giving me an epidural, but there were no complications
during the surgery. I started back on the Coumadin upon my release from
the hospital and I've had no problems. Is there any specific questions
that you need answered - if so, please e-mail me through my profile...JR

I also had a blood clot in my lung (about 18 months ago). I'll be having
surgery in a couple months but my surgeon and pulmonary specialist said
they would insert the Greenfield filter before the surgery. Then my
surgeon said he'd admit me into the hospital about 3 days prior to surgery
and take me off Coumadin and start me on Heparin. Then I'd stay on Heparin
throughout my whole stay in the hospital and released back on my Coumadin
when I returned home. Take care.
