Thats right, PROTEIN FIRST! Then good carbs like veggies and fruit. Avoid
the BAD CARBS like processed cakes, cookies, ice cream etc. You know all my
old favorites:(b Well you get the idea....

You can get a carb counter book from Dr. Atkins, it lists how many carbs
are in everything. The lowest carbs in veggies is broccoli, cauliflower,
zuchinni, the highest would be corn, peas, tomatoes, carrots- in fruits,
bannanas, are very high in carbs, and so are grapes, oranges, etc. Berries
are very low in carbs, hope this helps.

All carbs are not created equal! Carbs from whole foods (complex carbs
like fruits and veggies) are different from processed carbs like white
sugar and white flour that will cause big blood sugar swings. My doc
recommends protein first for at least half the meal, then fill the rest w/
veggies and fruit. It I HAVE to have bread or crackers, I keep it whole
grain, but I do better weight wise when I avoid them.
