Question:
I am getting reversed...

For anyone who has followed my journey, I just wanted to tell you that I will be having a reversal of the BPD/DS on 8/20/02. Obviously, not a complete reversal as this is not possible, but putting everything back as it was as much as they can. I am sick of being sick and I am now almost bedridden most days from anemia and pooping. I am not writing this to scare anyone but to update some people who have been very kind to me always. I feel that this is my last option and I hope beyond hope, that all of you who have had WLS, do great and have the best results possible. Hugs to you all, Barb    — Barbara H. I am so happy your finally able to get this done. Your surgery needed reversed bad. Its a rare thing but in your case it necessary.<P> Incidently because of a bug I had to change this posts title to get it approved. Sorry about that hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Barbara, I'm so happy about your news! I'm crossing my fingers that this is what you need to get your life back -- a long, healthy, happy life. You deserve it! You have provided so much support and information to those researching WLS. I was grateful to come across your story when I was a pre-op, because it allowed me to make my WLS decision with my eyes wide open to the risks. Thank you, and best of luck on the 20th. You'll be in my thoughts.

May you only find health and happiness after this reversal. I wish you the best during your recovery and long afterwards. The pain you have gone through and illnesses you have had to bear are too much, and although they may not be gone fully, I hope they will decrease so you can have a happy life again. We'll all be thinking of you!

Hooray, Barbara!!! I am so glad you have sought out a surgeon who can correct what was obviously a questionable job on your original weight loss surgery. It will be interesting to discover what they find when they open you up. I also want to reinforce to all those reading this that the problem doesn't lie in the type of procedure. Many, many people have the DS without the problems she has had. Having corresponded with you about your particular issues, I feel confident that with the revision, you will recover your health AND maintain your weight loss. Just out of curiosity, who are you having do the procedure and when? Best wishes to you, Barbara!

Best wishes to you on your reversal surgery. You have great courage to have told your story here, and pre ops and as well as us post ops are grateful that you did so. We all need to know that this surgery is not a cure all and things can and do go wrong, research is the key, and even then not everything can go as planned. I am sorry that your surgery had to be the example of that, but hopefully something great will come of all this garbage you've gone through. You'll be in my prayers.

Barb, I'm so happy that you are finally going to get it done. I had'nt heard from you in a long time and wondered if you had it done yet. I sure hope you will be able to regain your health and NOT the pounds. I've always heard that you gain all your weight and more with a reversal, however you can not keep going on like you have. I wish you the absolute best! Your friend, Dan.
