Question:
What do you blend your shakes in when using ice

It just seems that it is a hassle to pull out the big blender to mix a small amount of protein powder. But the stick blenders just throw the ice all over the place. Any suggestions?    — Kay S. (posted on August 4, 2002)

I have a Tupperware Shaker that has a lid and a cap over a pour whole, I just shake away, and get a little of exercise while I am doing it.(grin)

I agree with the first poster...you get so that you can just mix the protein in water and shake (if it is a whey protein as they mix well by just shaking and soy does not). This makes it quick and I just throw in a few ice cubes to keep in cold while I drink it.

I am still pre-op, but have been trying to get my plan of action started. I had a pampered chef party recently and plan to get their ice shaver. It comes with a couple of cup things to freeze stuff, then you just take them out and shave when needed. you can freeze all kinds of liquids. I thought that it would be good during the liquid stage but it might work for shakes. It is like snow cone ice. I noticed wal-mart also has them and they are about half the price of p.c. Sherri in AL

I like the other suggestions, but I can't quite choke the shakes down yet without a lot of ice in them. I use my blender to crush my ice and mix my shake, then after I pour it into my glass I rinse the blender pitcher out with cold water and set it in the fridge. I wash it about every three (sometimes 4) days instead of everytime I use it. If you rinse it well after use and before the next, it isn't gross at all.

I have a "Smoothie" machine from walmart, {$30.00} I keep it out on my counter top, and use it daily! I mix christal lite, whey desinger protein vanilla powder, a few strawberrie's and ice! Yummy!

Try a 4 cup measuring cup, plastic. Maybe you can find one at the dollar store that is more deep than wide?
