Question:
How often should I be taking my sublingual B 12
I am currently taking Spring Valley brand sublingual B12 liquid from Wal-Mart. It contains 1,200 mcg of B12 per 1 oz. dose. How often should I be using this supplement? Daily? Every other day? I don't want to overdo any vitamins so I appreciate any feedback on this. Thanks much, Anna — Anna L. (posted on August 1, 2002)

B-12 is non-toxic, so don't worry about OD'ing. The daily requirement for
a normie is 6 mcg/day, so I do two 1000 mcg sublinguals per week, just to
be safe. But, obviously YMMV.

I take sublingual B12 once a week like my doc instructed me to, and my B12
level is at a good level.

Hi Anna, my nutrionist advises an average of 350 micrograms of B12 per day.
She told us if we get a larger dosage, then to skip days to average out to
that 350/day or 2450/week dosage. So with your 1200 mcg, I would think you
could take it like twice a week, or three times a week for a bit of a high
amount. Hope this helps!
