Question:
Has anyone eaten pepperoni post op?
I am 3and a half months out and down 95 pounds. Ihave started eating pepperoni. I eat it straight out of the bag and it hasnt bothered me yet. Is it bad for you? It has 140 calories and no carbs and 5 gram of protein. I am so getting tired of beef jerky. Any ideas on a snack replacement? thanks — Shannon L. (posted on July 18, 2002)

I forget who makes it but there's a turkey pepperoni out there with 70%
less fat than regular pepperoni. It's good.

Hi Shannon: I eat salami all the time but only about 3 THIN slices at a
time. I buy the presliced and I am not really concerned about the fat as
us RNY distals don't absorb much of the fat that we eat....but it has 5 gms
of protein and I like the taste..sometimes I wrap up a slice of cheese in
the meat....

It's strange as uncooked pepporoni does'nt bother me, but the cooked and
greesy pepporoni on pizza makes me nausus.
I don't see why it should matter if it's cooked or uncooked.

I am like Daniel and have no problems with the cold pepperoni and salami
but have to use the "paper napkin method" to remove the grease
from the pepperoni on pizza. It's higher in fat than jerky but as long as
you aren't really going over on calories per day that shouldn't matter.
Plus it's yummy! =)

I too eat turkey everything...turkey bacon, turkey sausage, turkey
pepperoni..it's got a lot less additives in it and it tastes pretty darn
good. Congratulations on your 95 lb. weight loss...I'm at the same time
frame as you but not at 95 pounds - you've done great. Good luck to you -
sounds like you're doing something right...keep on truckin' ! :)
