Question:
I am 2 years post-op and have been able to eat large quanities since 3months post-op
I have never had a feeling of being full or nauseated.I have felt pain behind breastbone 5 or6 times in last two years. I am gaining weight back rapidly. I had endescopy om 7/25/2002 and the doctor couldn't tell me if my stoma was enlarged. I'm very discouraged. I had a horrible time post-op. I almost died two times and did not wake up until 2 months post-op. I feel as if surgery has been for nothing. I have gained back 30 of the 130 pounds lost. — Loraine H. (posted on June 27, 2002)

I felt I was/could overeat from day one. Even mentioned it to my surgeon
at my first post-op visit. He was 'surprized' but said that if I wasnt
'throwing' up I must not be overeating. It wasn't until I was post-op 5
months that a Upper GI was done. This test showed that the opening from my
pouch to my intestines was 'to large' NO food was staying in the pouch at
all... thus.. NO sense of 'being full' and being able to 'overeat'.
With research, from what I have found out if this happens to you you are
"on your own'. One "MAJOR" surgeon (whom my surgeon did a
consult told "him" to tell me to drink as much water just before
eating. I did loose. (150) pounds... I have gained about 10 back...
I have finally found a new surgeon that will attempt to 'fix' the opening
by using the fobi ring.
