Question:
I am so hungry after I exercise and I am drinking loads of water..any suggestions??
I walk 3 miles a day in 1.5 mile incrimates. After I am done I am so hungry I want to devour a whole sandwhich (but I dont)! Any ideas on how to curb my exercise hunger or why this is happening? Thanks everyone! — Shannon L. (posted on June 19, 2002)

Try loading up on protein before walking, or immediately after. Sounds
like your blood sugar is out of whack. Insulin makes you feel hungry.
Although I've heard that exercise is supposed to help control the feeling
of hunger. Hmmm...well, it can't hurt and it might help!
Take care!

I have a protein drink on the way to the gym. Then another while I'm
changing. We're also ravenous, so we just plan to run across the street for
a complex carb snack. The body builders usually have a high carb recovery
drink. I'm not doing 50g of SUGAR! LOL! But a nice sandwich gets us some
good carbs in a balanced way. We've already had the protein drinks, so
that's covered. I'd much rather translate that legit need for carbs into a
sandwich than a handful of Oreos (or worse) by the time I get home!
