Question:
Is every BM diarrhea for the full 6 weeks of liquid diet?

I was luck to have a BM during my clear liquid stage. In my case, things
were kind of weird - I had to dye 2 oz. of drink blue twice a day for the
first 10-days so my doc could check for leaks - if the drains showed up
with "blue" in them, he knew something wasn't right and it would
be my first signal to get to him for treatment. My BM's
were...well...green. Went in blue and came out green. Is that not the
weirdest thing? And yes...it was basically diarrhea. Our system was
cleared out completely, if you did the bowel prep prior to surgery and then
anything going in afterwards is just soft/soft/soft so I wouldn't worry
about it. When you get off the liquids and on to some things with
substance - it will "show". :)

I never had problems after surgery. (But I did before!!! Bad enough I was
on 4 different prescriptions to control it.) Four weeks after surgery I am
normal, on a daily basis. Just give it another week or two. Hope it
improves!

Just add protein to your diet and you should have normal BM's. As soon as
I started drinking protein shakes I started having normal BM's.

Do you mean diarrhea or just liquidy poop? I think the term diarrhea
indicates sickness. Anyway, for me liquid in = liquid out.

Lindy, I am 7 months post -125+ lbs and EVERY bowel movement since surgery
has been diarrhea. I even take 2-4 Lomotil a day to keep it under control.

Its a balancing act, I was rather explosive for several months and it was
upredictable. it is better but now I alternate between constipation and
explosive decompression. Its what you eat, when you eat how much and water
intake as well. good luck,greg
