Question:
how do you go about getting a dr to see you if you are on medicare

my mom has medicare and needs the surgery desperately. medicare has already said they would pay for it. but the dr's in the columbus, oh area refuse to even see her. one dr wants her to pay $35,000 up front in cash. osu says (even though they won't see her) said that she doesn't meet the criteria. she is 5' 0" and weighs 280 lbs with severe arthritis due to her weight. Have you checked Ohio on this site to see if anyone else has had Medicare pay to see which doctor they used? If that doesn't help, and since you have medicare's blessing- I would travel to another city if nescessary- or ask medicare for a list of doctors that accept medicare!
