Hi, I had a staple line disruption at 6 mos postop with rny. I noticed a
change in my eating habits when I could eat more. I could eat about 2 lean
cuisines. My twin sister who had rny too, and I compared eating patterns
and there was a big difference in our quantities. I exercised like crazy
and counted calories all summer last year and managed to lose 10 lbs in
about 3 mos. I didn't have any other symptoms. I did experience a very
mild aftertaste after eating spicy foods. Kind of like heartburn but not
as intense as heartburn. I didn't dump and could eat anything I wanted.
Even went on an Alaskan cruise on Princess Cruise Lines where the food and
desserts are unbelievable. Didn't gain any but ate what I wanted whenever
I wanted. At 9 mos post op I had an upper GI and it revealed a disruption
in the upper part of my pouch. My pouch had not stretched at all but the
food was flowing into my old still attached stomach. I had a revision to
transected pouch in October last year. Have lost 103 lbs now. I had lost
68 lbs with my first surgery. I am very happy I had the revision and am
now transected. Good luck!

I had a sudden return of acid to the pouch.. OW. I felt hungry (due to
acid), but was not able to eat a whole lot more. It hit me at 5 yrs
post-op. Had my revision without much fuss and lost the 12# I regained.
It was almost like a speed-bump in my life, rather than an utter disaster.
