Hi, my physician just informed me that my surgery would probably last
between 2 and 2 1/2 hours max. That's of course if all went as planned.
Good Luck.

I had open RNY with gall bladder removal, appendix removal, and a small
hernia repair - it took over 5 hours. The plan was originally to just
remove the gall bladder and do the RNY but once the Dr. got in there he
found that my appendix needed to go and I had a small umbilical hernia that
needed repaired. I was originally told the surgery would take around 2
hours max. Needless to say, my family was freaking out that I was out for
so long.

My Dr was in and out in 1 hour. That's why he prefers open to lap. You
don't have to be under for nearly as long!

my doctor told us 2 to 2 and half hours,, mine took 3 and he sent someone
out to tell my wife everything was fine,, it was just taking a little
longer,, most of my weight was in my belly and he had to work harder to get
in there,,but all went well,,good luck,,
