Question:
Has any one had a Cervical Fusion Prior to RNY surgery?

I had c6 and c7 fused in January 2002 due to a ruptured disc. I am concerned with how far the anestiologist will have to tilt my neck back to get the tube down into my stomache. My surgery is June 3,2002. Thank You.....Sheryl Jones    — Sheryl J. (posted on May 29, 2002)

Hi Sheryl, I had the exact surgery you did 6/01 and had my lap rny done 1/02. They had no problem with my intubation. Good luck! Down 70#

I was fused C5-7 in 1997 and had open rny in 2000 and didn't notice any problems, I did go to the Better Back Store and bought a "travel pillow" to take to the hospital. Just let them know about any special concerns regarding your neck ahead of time. good luck
