Question:
Will I ever feel
I am four weeks post op DS and I have been battling nausa, vomitting, weakness and diarrea. I wake each day trying to decide what will stay down. Will I ever get to a point that I will not have to think about these things? I have two weeks left before I return to work and I am scared. I may not have the strength to work. — debra L. Hi Debra, the weakness is normal and will go away when you can get enough
food to stay in you. I used the ginger tablets for nausea, but check with
your surgeon first. Are you expecting to have BM's like you did
pre-surgery? If so, I don't think it will happen. They will always be
looser and a different color due to the malabsorption of fats. I am 5
months post today and have two every morning. It is formed but much
thinner. I didn't vomit unless I ate too fast but I feel our emotions play
a big role in how our food goes down and stays down. By now you may be
anticipating the vomiting and closing your throat involuntarily. To me,
the mind games are the hardest part of recovery. Be patient with yourself
and it will all get so much better!!!! Have you told your surgeon you are
having problems keeping food down? Good luck and I hope this soon stops
and you can go back to work without worry.

I'm pre-op so consider the source when you read this... you didn't say WHAT
you're eating that isnt' staying down.. that could be part of what is
happeneing to you. You have two more weeks... a lot could happen in that
time, so don't panic.. and above all.. as someone else said.. check in
withyour doctor.. or nutritionist...

OH COURSE YOU WILL ............... i felt terrible for the first 2 months,
then out of no where it gets better. in the mean time see if your doc can
prescribe something for the nausea to see you thru!
