Question:
Am i doing ok

i had my consultation on 1/3 and got my weight taken i was 333 then i went back on the 1/22 and got weighted again and was 341 that was the last time i was weighted. i had my surgery on 2/26 i know that i gained more weight between 1/22 and 2/26 but all i could go by at the time of surgery was 341 i was so nervous i forgot to weigh myself, anyhow it has been 11 weeks since surgery and i now weigh 293 that is 48 pounds in 11 weeks is that good or would i be considered a slow loser? and what would you say i'd gained between 1/22 and 2/26 if i gained 8 pound from 1/3 to 1/22 some one please tell me! thank you all    — Latisha M. You are doing great. I had my surgery the same day as you did. I am down 55 lbs in 11 weeks.. so you aren't far behind me. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. I wouldnt say that 48 pounds in 11 weeks is slow. Could you have lost it any faster pre op? I think NOT

Hi! I agree with the previous poster - try not to compare yourself to others. My doctor and nutritionist like to see a 1-2 lb loss per week. They think that anything more than that is most likely other than fat. Also, I feel like the slower I lose the more stable my loss will be, and that my body will more readily adjust. Are you also taking measurements of your body? That might show you a whole other side of the weight loss. I had surgery on 2/25 and am down 48 lbs, and 22" overall. (Which to me is just amazing!!!!) I don't really worry about the numbers too much, weigh every day (can't seem to break that habit!) and if the # go up or down I don't freak, it's normal, I think, for that to happen. Keep doing what feels right to you - don't worry about the numbers so much! Good luck!

The last visit I had with my surgeon before surgery, I weighed 233. By the time I had surgery (17 days later), when they weighed me at the hospital on my surgery day, my weight was 248!! You normally have a LOT of "last meals" leading up to the surgery so you probably put on some more weight. Even based on the numbers you gave, your doing great. Good luck!!
