Question:
Incision drip medications
Okay, another of those "I heard" questions. I have been told that several doctors now insert a small tube into the incision and "drip" pain killing meds into the area during the first few days post op. Anyone have any information about this? — Tom H. (posted on May 14, 2002)

Hey, my surgery was on 2/22/02 and all I can say is thank God for the
invention. It did great re: the pain at and around the incision. The only
problem is when it becomes empty, you realize how spoiled you were with it.
When my ball of pain meds was empty, then I found out how painful it was.
So, when you first wake up, get going walking because when that is gone,
you will definitely know when. OUCH!!!!!! Gwen

Hi. I had a pain buster with my lower body lift and it really helped. I
even kept the little bag it came in to carry my drains around in. On the
bag it says, On-Q Post-OP Pain Relief and a website addy of
askyoursurgeon.com. Hope this helps..........Lacy 288/119

I also had onQ with my LBL and it was very good, I was pleasantly surprised
that I had so much less pain than I expected.
