Question:
Does the WLS make you more prone to sea sickness?
I love to go boating (at least once a week during season). A family member owns a boat. This weekend we went out and several people got "sea sick". I realized I never get sea sick, will this change after surgery? And if so are WLS persons allow to take dramermien (sp?)Does anybody go boating regukarly after surgery? HOW has this effected your tolerence to sea sickness, if at all? — Marlene N. (posted on May 13, 2002)

Even though sea-sickness makes you FEEL sick to your stomach, it's actually
because your inner ear and your brain are giving you trouble. If you didn't
get seasick before WLS, you are unlikely to get seasick AFTER WLS either.
The nausea is a SYMPTOM, not the cause of the problem. Have a great time on
the boat!
