Question:
In preparing for surgery I've cut out all soda, all caffeine except morning coffee...
now I'm getting headaches, not migraines like I used to get, just a dull ache. But I am wondering if I'm having caffeine withdrawal during the day after my coffee wears off? Is this possible? I'm thinking I should just go ahead and completely stop all caffeine now and have one massive withdrawal before surgery? Any feedback or wisdom to share? Thanks, Anna — Anna L. I've always heard that it is better for your body if you slowly decrease
your caffeine intake. I know what you mean though - I got the caffeine
headaches over with a month ago because I didn't want to have that on top
of pain from surgery. During my weaning stage when my headache was really
bad, I would have a Coke. It took me about 2 weeks to get off completely.
Good luck!

I find now that I am post op coffee has NO appeal to me at all. And I used
to live on it! I would cut down if your doc recommends, but once you're
post op, I bet you never give it a second thought...

I suffered from caffine headaches right after surgery and I thought my head
was going to EXPLODED by day 2 !!! the morphine wasn't even helping!! Deal
with the withdrawls from caffine before your SURGERY!! Recorvering from
surgery is hard enough for your body and going through caffine withdrawls
is going to ROCK YOUR WORLD big time!!! You still got time. I wish someone
would have told me about this prior to my surgery!! Best of Luck on your
wls journey!!
