SO GLAD YOU ASKED! I have just found a great liquid calcium citrate that
tastes GREAT! It is made by Tropical Oasis (www.tropicaloasis.com) and is
an orange citrus flavor. It is a thick white suspension, BUT it reminds me
of the texture and flavor of fresh orange yogurt. You only have to take a
tablespoon daily. There are others that are similar but none gives you
1200mg of calcium in just a tablespoon... most require a 2 and 3 tablespoon
dose and only give 600-1000 mg calcium... so another reason to get Tropical
Oasis liquid! Liquid is the way to go... I have spent over $100 on
different calcium pills and chewables and they all were big chalky and
nasty... so this was a pleasant surprise. I was sure that this would taste
horrible and really dreaded tasting it... but I was shocked at how tasty it
was... just amazing. Try it!

One thing to be careful of: Our bodies can absorb only 500 mg of calcium
at one time. Since we need 1500 mg daily, we have to take it 3 times a
day. Taking a large dose doesn't help us any more than taking one dose of
500 mg.

Mine is in caps. 500mg per cap. I can swallow them, but have tried open
& dump into liquid and that works, too. The ratio is the correct,
500mg cal citrate, 250mg mag, 200IU D3. My dexascan showed no change (which
is good) but my husband actually showed improvement in bone mass!

I have to agree with Susan that liquid is definitely the way to go, but
Kristie is right when she stated we only absorb 500 mg at a time. With
that said, Susan should be taking more than one dose of her liquid a day.
I myself love the liquid "Isotonix" calcium, wouldn't consider
taking anything else. It tastes great and more importantly the absorption
is very high. I wouldn't even bother taking calcium in tablet form!

I had been having the hardest time swallowing those huge calcium citrate
pills! Went to my 4 month check-up and they told me that I could dissolve
the pills in about 1/2 of water (I use crystal light). Just let them sit
for about 30 minutes, stir it up, let it settle, a few minutes and then
drink it. There is a substance left at the bottom, but they told me to
just leave that there. It really tastes like nothing and I have taken all
my calcium since I heard that trick!!!

Reading all of the posts makes me wonder if it would be pssoible to try the
following and how well it would work.
If I took a bottle of Crystal Light and drpped 3 500mg calcium citrate
tablets in and waited for them to disolve coul dI just keep the bottle for
the whole day and just drink it in 3rd's thereby getting in my calcium for
the day 1500mg and avoiding having to dissolve tablets three times a day.
But even further than that I wonder how long after you disolve the tablet
is it good. If it were good for a week or so then theoretically I could
mix up 5 bottles of this and take them to work and just have a 3rd of a
bottle 3 times a day.
I am really curious about this as calcium is one of those supplements I
have a real problem getting in. I have htree meds/suppplements and none of
them play well together.
I take Chromagen Forte(iron) twice a dat which binds with Calcim so it
can't be taken with calcium. It also binds with my anti-biotics which I am
on for the next 5 months.
My antibiotics bind with Calcium and with Iron. I can't eat two hours
before or an hour after taking the antibiotics and the antibiotics have to
be taken twice a day. I can't have Calcium or Iron products 2 hours before
or after taking the antibiotics.
I also have to make sure that there is atleast an hour between the time I
take the calcium and the iron.
I take 3 ADEKS a day and they play well with all of the supplements.
Also has anyone tried dissolving their multi-vitamin?

Instead of dissolving caps in water, use UpCalD. Pure calcium powder, as
citrate . . . dissolves instantly. I add it to each of my protein shakes,
but could be put into cottage cheese, CL, etc. I get it at VitaLady.com,
who also has the Tropical Oasis that Susan Maria mentioned.
