Alondra (love your name). I am 4 weeks post op and I was thirsty all the
time before surgery...had a lot to do with being diabetic. After surgery,
I was no longer thirsty. I still drink water pretty constantly all day and
manage to get in my 64 oz without any problem.

That is a symptom of Diabetes. Are you diabetic? If so if you are type 2
the WLS should help.

Common symptom of diabetes. I am SO GLAD to be rid of that constant
drinking and bathroom detail. Good news is 85% of type 2 adult onset
diabetes are cured, or since Gar W will complain about my calling it cured
they are in complete control. MY PCP sas I am NO LONGER diabetic! Whatever
its called its WONDERFUL!

With me, it was sleep apnea that made me dry. I drank well over 1 gal of
water a day, plus another gal of other fluids. The symptoms stopped
abruptly with my WLS. I was rarely thirsty. However, after the first few
days/weeks break-in period, you can drink pretty normally. Sure, you can't
"slam it back", but you can drink at a reasonable pace.

Are you really thirsty or is your mouth dry. I take a couple of meds that
dry me out so my mouth is dry most of the time. I can be thinking I'm
really thirsty, get a large drink of some kind and then drink only a small
amount because it wets my mouth and then I realize I'm not so much thirsty
as dry-mouthed. Have you recently started taking any new meds. Diuretics
and several anti-depressants can dry you out. If it's really thirst, you
do need to get that checked out.
