Question:
Is any one else having problems with their hips mine are hurting very bad

I have gone to my PCP and he suggest and referred me to a plastic surgeon, he seems to think it is my apron pulling, and that I amy have to have it removed soon than I thought. I wanted to know if anyone else has ad this happen to them. I had my surgery March 29, 2001. starting weight 320, loss of 150 so I now weight 170, I would like to lose 20 more.    — Danielle F. Sorry I cant answer your question, but you reminded me about my pre op hip pain. It was REAL bad some days before surgery, and gradually went away after a month or so post op. I have to add this to my profile, a PAIN I forgot about. I hope you find your solution.

Hi there. I also had hip pain post op. It was actually about 11 or 12 months post op. It doesn't bother me now, so I just wonder if it had anything to do with carrying that weight around for so long and then the hips finally getting a reprieve! My surgeon and PCP weren't concerned but then again, I don't have a large apron, so maybe that does play a role in your pain. And.....congratulations on your loss!

Yes, yes, yes... I had terrible hip and lower back pain when at my heaviest. This dissappeared once I lost a great deal of weight- and then it came back! I do think your body is relieved with the weightloss, then re-adjusts- so that even your 10lbs of extra weight, is hard to deal/work with. Actually what I have heard is that if you are carrying an extra 10lbs apron around, it puts approx. 100lbs of pressure on your back.

Yes, I am having the same problems. I go to see my doctor (who performed my bypass surgery) concerning the pain. I am also having problems with other areas as well so you are not alone.

Yes, I have hip pain, too. I do not have an apron, though I am sure for you htat is a very large contributing factor. My pain I believe is from my posture changing and the way that I walk and move changing so drastically. I am going to see a chiropractor. I personally have had 2 very bad chiropractic experiences, but know they were both flukes. I have a very highly reccommmended one to go to. I know I am out of whack - losing 100 pounds would put anyone out of alignment!

Yes, I am having hip pain, however, my doctor seems to think it's because I have lost my cushion and suggested that TT or any plastic surgery would only increase the pain in the hips. Personally, I think he's wrong. I have pain more on the (R) than on the (L)including the back. I have an appointment scheduled to see an Orthapedic dr. on the 1st.

Yes, I am 4 months post op and I do have the hip pain...right about where the legs of my panties are. It hurts the most when I get up in the mornings, but gets better as the day passes. I am hoping that since I am excercising a little now, I will improve.
