Question:
Will these make me dump??
My nutritionist says to get children's sugar-free chewable vitamins plus minerals for the first month. I've looked and looked and everything I've found has sucralose in it. I picked a Flintstone's chewable that does has sucralose, but it isn't the first ingredient listed. Will these make me dump?? — LaRayne H. (posted on March 9, 2002)

I too take flintstones (walgreens brand) and have had no problem with them,
but everyone is different.

LaRayne, Hun, Sucralose is just fine to have because it's Splenda! :)
Sucralose is an artificial sweetener that is made from real sugar but has
NO calories. Beware of SUCROSE. That is table sugar. The names sound so
similar it is easy to get them confused. Good Luck!

Hi! I totally was wrong about what is in the vitamins...it's not
sucralose, it's sorbitol! My bad! Do you think these still might make me
dump? The packet my nutritionist gave me said to beware of medicines with
sorbitol, zylitol, mannitol and maltitol. I'm so confused!

Take a look in your local drugstore...Centrum just came out with a new
sugar-free adult chewable and it is so much easier to chew than those
children's chewables. It's orange flavored and tastes like the old baby
aspirins. It's made with aspartame- well worth it.

The problem with the sugar alcohols is that they can cause diarhea if you
use lots of them. I don't think that the amount in a couple of vitamins
would cause you any problems.
