Remember MODERATION is the key!! I bought a can of Pringles potatoe chips
think I would just eat a few and be full? WRONG!!!! Half a can later I
realized how many I had eaten, put the lid on them and BURIED the can in
the trash. Obviously I cannot eat just one and I don't dump. NO MORE
Pringles for me. The pretzels would have been a lot better choice! LOL.
Good luck.

Well they are better than potato chips, because potato chips grind up to
dust being chewed, and pass right thru us with no feeling of fullness. At
least pretzels leave a feeling of saiety. This is know as my surgeons
potato chip vs pretzel lecture:)

Just a thought... pretzels are not the most horrible snack as the other
posters have said already, however they are all carbs so I don't think they
should be eaten every or all day either. One rule I have fo rmyself is that
any snack I have should have some protein value in it. A couple of
suggestions in lieu of pretzels that will also help with the need to
"crunch"... Kashi GOLEAN cereal. I eat it right out of the box,
no milk, 3/4 cup goes a long way, it has 8 grams of protein, 24 carbs but
better than pretzels and again, protein value that will help with daily
protein intake. Throw a couple of nuts (almonds are low in saturated fat)
and what a great snack. Also, along the same lines, Protein Plus cereal, it
hs 12 grams of protein per 2/3 cup, very sweet and crunchy. Another
delicious, protein filled crunchy snack, GlenniSoy Soy crisps. The best are
the Creamy Ranch, they have only 100 calories for 25 of them (they are like
mini rice cakes in size)and 7 grams of protein, 14 grams of carbs and 1
gram of sugar. They are so yummy, I have all my friends eating them now.
Also, they have the same things in Apple Cinnamin flavor, even more
delicious!I find them at our local Health Food grocery but you can also go
to GlenniSoy.com. Again, just a few suggestions for you to try ot get away
from the pretzels and add variety, while giving yourself some protein at
the same time. I am enjoying finding snacks that I can eat and crunch while
knowing I am doing the right thing for my body. Happy crunching!

My surgeon puts no restrictions on Carbs...I know, 99% do... but all Dr's
are different. Perhaps you COULD add some protien to them. For instance
buy the square/waffle pretzles, break a cheese slice into fourths, and make
a little pretzle cheese sandwich. Or what about dipping a pretzle rod into
some natural peanut butter? Yummmmm

At night I keep two or three pretzels on my nightstand. Sometimes my empty
stomach wakes me up so I eat one or two and my stomach feels so much better
and lets me continue sleeping the rest of the night.I buy the fat free
ones.
