Question:
Does anyone compare their lean body mass presurgery to postsurgery?
I'm curious, I was recently hydrostatically weighed and determined that i have 187lbs of lean body mass (muscles, organs, bones).. and 193lbs of fat (that's 51%). the good news is that if i am able to keep my lean body mass, i could weigh 220lbs and be at 20% fat which would be incredible.. so, i'm concerned about muscle loss with the catabolic state our bodies go into after surgery.. has anyone kept statistics on their lean body mass??... has anyone done weight training in the first six months post-op? is it advisable? i am also interested in different ways to ensure adequate protein intake to keep the body strong.. (i know.. i know.. i'm getting the cart before the horse - seeing that i haven't even had my consultation yet.. but still i'm getting curiouser adn curiouser! *wink*)thanks for your help y'all! — Noddie W.
