Question:
Is PCOS a comorbid condition?
I am trying to get approved for WLS and I'm not sure if PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) is a comorbid condition. Does anyone else have PCOS and is having/had WLS and used PCOS as a comorbid? — Karma J. (posted on January 17, 2002)

It worked for me. Because of my PCOS I was obese, because I was obese had
high blood pressure, borderline diabetic, back problems, sleep apnea etc
etc. So one affects the other. While losing weight controls a portion of
PCOS, it will not cure it. It doesn't hurt for your Doctor to add it!

I used PCOS as one of my main co-morbid conditions. A lot of my letters
were around it in a comprehensive manner. If anyone would like help with
insurance letters concerning PCOS please feel free to email me =)
