Question:
Is it possible to have LAP RNY if it is being performed as a revision to a VBG?
I would much rather have the procedure done Laproscopically.....than OPEN due to the rehab time and possible complications. — Robert B. (posted on January 13, 2002)

My surgeon does these revisions all the time! LAP is the way to go! Surgery
can take a bit longer, and there is the chance of waking up a open, But
with a experienced surgeon you will do fine.

My doc would not do a lap due to my revison from the VBG. He said there is
too much scare tissue from the previous surgery. My doc is highly trained
in the lap and I really wanted that.. but was VERY happy to have an open
too!!!!! Good luck to you...

My surgeon specializes in laparascopic WLS and does this revisions
frequently. Experience in this field is everything! Good luck!
