Question:
How do I know what my goal weight should be?
I hear lots of people talk about their "goal" weight. I am still pre-op. How do I determine what my goal weight should be? — emilyfink (posted on January 10, 2002)

If you go to the 'calculate your bmi' page, you can see a chart which tells
you that the ideal bmi is b/w 21-25. Enter your weight and height and it
will give you a chart of weight loss by month with a bmi value. In the end
they have you at goal bmi and goal weight. Hope this helps.

I've found that many people have a "set" of goal weights. My
surgeon set my offical goal weight at my first appointment (130 lbs.). I
had my "I'll be really, really happy" goal of 150 lbs., and my
"ultimate dream" goal of 120 lbs. -Kate-
