Question:
How can i move on?
I have plateaued now for a few weeks with no weight loss. I feel terrible. I feel like I am gaining my weight back. i am 11 weeks post op and have lost 43 lbs. I am losing slowly. Any suggestions to "vamp" up my weight loss — Jennifer L. (posted on September 27, 2001)

Jennifer, I went through the same thing. I plateaued for
a few weeks and even went so far as to go to my dr.'s
office to weigh. It happens but as they say, this too shall
pass. I have it happen to me twice and the second time,
while frustrating, was easier to handle because I knew
it wasn't permanent. Good Luck and smile...

I'm 4 months out and I plateau every month. I will loose nothing for three
weeks and on the fourth week I'm down 10 lbs. I was so frustrated until I
stopped weighing myself everyday now it's once a week sometimes less. I'm
down 50lbs and not worrying!

Everyone will probably get on my case for saying this, but here goes. I
asked my doctor about plateaus he said that if you plateau then you are
doing something wrong. When i plataeued fro a little over a week i wanted
to scream at him when he said that. He told me to journal very thing i put
in my mouth, my water and my exercise. When i compared it to my first
month, there was a difference. I cut back anything that could remotely be
messing me up. Cut back carbs, upped the protein and drank almost a gallon
of water. Since then, I have lost over a pound a day. Try really looking at
what you are doing and streamlining your whole program.

Courtney -- you are right. The only time I worry about a plateau is when I
know I am consistently doing everything right -- protein, water, exercise.
If so, then I ask myself do I need to add more protein? Water? Change the
exercise? I am not eating near the volume I used to so there is no reason
not to lose weight. Good luck and God bless!
