Question:
How do you get rid of the dark skin from your thighs rubbing?
I take very good care of myself and I am a very clean person, but I have a problem with blackheads and pimples along with darker skin on the insides of my thighs. Anyone know how to help it? — [Anonymous] (posted on August 28, 2001)

I have had that problem eversince i was overweight, and i think no matter
how clean you are, it will still be there. I sweat so much, and with all
the extra weight, it just rubs together agravating it, making it worse. I
have even used a "buff puff" thinking that would help. I try to
wear cotten most of the time, specially under clothes.

I have the same problem. After you have lost some weight in your legs,
contact a dermatologist. He/she should be able to give you a cream to fade
the dark skin. But it won't work until you've lost enough weight in your
thighs to keep the skin from rubbing together. Also, some skin peels work,
too. Ask the dermatologlist.

When your thighs quit rubbing together it goes away. The theatre drapes
effect with the skin is annoying but at least it is all the same color.
Thank God for the surgery... <g>

If you're a female, have you been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian
Syndrome? Dark skin patches can be one of the symptoms.

Working from a non-scientific approach, cocoa butter has always worked for
me, especially with the stretch marks while pregnant. It can a few weeks
to work, but believe me it does, but at least you can purchase this
over-the-counter until you do see a dermatologist.

The dark skin is caused by the skin rubbing together and
thickening over time. Try some OTC skin scrub like Apricot
Scrub and follow with alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy. The
only sure way like everyone has said before is to wait until
you get closer to your goal weight and see a dermatologist
for Rx skin lightening cream.
