Question:
How long before they will let me have my teeth back post op?

You can safely "gum it" for awhile. ;) The first week anyway,
you'll be on liquids and jello... yeak. Sorry I don't know the answer to
your question. I certainly see no reason why you could'nt get your teeth
back soon, but they won't be needed right away. Good luck with your
surgery!

Mine were waiting for me in my room after I got out of recovery.

Hi, I just had to laugh when I read this question, even though I know it is
legitimate. The reason it is funny to me is because whenever my mom has to
have any procedure where she has to remove her teeth that is her first
question, when can I have them back? Although I am allowed to see her
without them, she gives standing orders that her husband not be allowed to
look at her until she has them back in her mouth. Anyway, to answer your
question, I believe once you are awake and aware enough to where you could
ask for them you could have them back. Unless you are on a ventilator I
can't think of a reason why you couldn't get them back once in recovery.
The NG tube should interfere in the least or the oxygen. My suggestion
would be to ask your surgeon and the anesthesiologist and make sure to tell
your nurses as you are being wheeled to the OR that you want your teeth
back ASAP. Good luck!
