Question:
Does anyone know of a Dr. in Wisconsin that takes self pay?
I have been denied because of limitation and exclusions. I need help. — Dawn D. (posted on June 20, 2001)

If I'm not mistaken Dr. Marvin Kuehner at the Marshfield Clinic in
Marshfield does. It seems to me that they mentioned that at an
informatonal session, when they gave us an approximate cost, and related
ins info. You might try giving them a call to verify.

I too have insurance problems and live in Wisconsin. Freodert does allow
self-pay from what I've been able to figure out but they require it all up
front. There is also a place in Green Bay that may be a little more
realistic for some (me). If you would like more information please email
me.

Dr. Thomas Chua in Milwaukee takes self pays. I will self pay for my distal
RNY (open incision) in January 2003. Dr. Chua's office said that his fee
will be about $6,200. Sinai Samaritan Hospital charges between $25,000 and
$28,000 for the hospital stay. The pre-op testing will be $1,800 to $2,200.
I won't know about the bills for the anethesiologist, radiologist,
cardiologist, etc... until surgery is over.
