Question:
Hernia and other proceedures during open RNY
Hi, I am hoping to have wls in July/Aug 2001. I also have a herniated scar area from a gallbladder removal in 1988... it is bulky above the incision... i would love it if the surgeon, dr E. Rehnke, could fix this while i get the RNY... I also heard people say that some surgeons will do a tubal at the same time.... I am currenlty on Depo shots and do not ever want any more kids... if i could get that out of the way at the same time it would be great.... by the way, this is a wonderful site ... good luck to all and any comments wold be appreciated — Donna T. It depends on the surgeon, just ask him! My surgeon was magnificent! He
re-repaired an incisional hernia for me and did it right this time! I had
been miserable with this old gallbladder hernia, got it fixed once (they
botched the job) and thought I had permanent nerve damage there but now it
is fixed right and I am amazed! My surgeon also did a vagotomy, and
removed my appendix during the RNY. For my neighbor, he tied her tubes and
removed her gallbladder and did the vagotomy. I hope you find a wonderful
surgeon like ours!
