Call your doctor for treatment or ideas. I had a small cold before surgery too, not a real nasty
one. It was over by the time surgery came.
Make absolutely certain that if you take over-the-counter cold remedies that you tell your surgeon
and anesthesiologist what you were taking and when as many of this can have
adverse effects on your anesthesia!

Janice, My step dad is a pharmacist. His personal "cure" for
colds is LOTS of vitamin C. Like
1000 mg three times a day. Zinc lozenges are also supposed to help shorten
the duration of a cold. You can
find both at Walmart, or any drug store.

Janis, one of my pre op orders was to call the doctor's office if I
developed a cold or fever. Even
though you are a week or so from the procedure, you may want to call your
doctor's office to see if there is anything you need to do. Good luck,
Janice

I have been told by the docs where I work: If you treat a cold, it will go away in 7 days. If you
do nothing, it will take a week. If it truly is just a cold, I don't think you'll have anything
much to worry about on surgery day.
