Question:
will you help me to chose the best surgent and surgery type.

I have to chose between dr.livingston in UCLA ( He performs open gastric bypass and he is the head of the department with lots of experience, or Dr. carson Liu in UCLA who does the surgery laproscopy but he is doing that in UCLA since last yaer in a research program. I personaly love to do the surgery laproscopy, but meanwhile safty is my primary consideration. please if any one have any of them as their surgent or have some experience regarding these two kind of surgery and specially these two doctots, give me some advice . thanks a lot.    — [Anonymous] (posted on August 7, 2000)

Personally, I'd choose the doc with the most experience and best track record for safety as long as it results in the goals I have decided on for myself. In this case, it sounds like the open instead of the lap. But, only you can decide.
