Marion, How great for you that you're going to have the
surgery! Everyone is different with their diabetes, but a
friend of mine who had the surgery and diabetes, found that
with the weight loss, she no longer had to take ANY type of
insulin and/or medication. As for the arthritis. Again,
we're all different, but on a personal level, I found yes, I
still have it, but because of the weight loss, I don't hurt
unless it's going to rain (and then only a little pain). I
am 57 years (young) and I'm telling you, I feel like a new
person.
Take care, Judy

Hey Marion; I have arthritis which was very painful before surgery. There
were days I could not walk without a cane and then it was even painful.
Now after LAP RNY, I have lost 70+ lbs. in 5 1/2 months and feel much
relief. No more cane and only pain occasionally. I also have more pain on
"weather change" days also. If you have other specific question,
please post or e-mail me. Good luck.
