Post op with migraines
Hi Everyone! My name is Michelle and I am almost 6 wks post op. I have lost 30lbs as of 5th week and that is wonderful, but...for the last week or so I have had excrutiating migraines...Cannot get rid of them. What is safe to take for them?? Someone told me to check my blood pressure and sugar levels? Also, I know I am NOT getting in my protein. Anyone have any suggestions? PLEASE? I feel like crap. Michelle C — michelle C. Hey I read your post and I wanted to say that I am pre-op so I don't know
if it is normal to have migranes that bad. I haven't seen anything posted
about headaches in the past and I have been on this list for about 8
months. I would suggesst that if your headaches don't ever seem to go away
like if they just get tolorable and then get bad again I would definitly go
to the emergency room my neighbor started getting migranes like that and
they wouldn't go away and at about the fourth day she finally went to the
doctor's to find out that she had a viral meningitis. The side affects of
meningitis are migranes that don't go away and it is very serious and could
be deadly. But it is treated with shot. I hope this message doenst scare
you its just meant to inform. Take care and Good luck with your weight
loss.
Sincerely, Tara

hi! I feel your pain. I used to get migrains about once every 6 mo. Now
after surgery I get them several times a week. I finally went to the
doctor and had a MRI done. It was normal, but the neoroligist told me my
headaches were a direct side effect of rapid weight loss. He said once the
weight loss slows so will the headaches. I am on some meds that dull the
pain, so for now I am happy to get them (that means I am still losing!) So
hang in there and go see your doctor! jenae RNY 4/29/99 132lbs so far!
