This may sound crazy, but here goes: If you have a pouch that will

eventually expand to six inches, and if you eat beyond that capacity, and it makes you ill, how are you able to expand that pouch and gain the weight back - all or part of it? If if makes you ill, how can you gain and expand the pouch?    — Sandy C. (posted on November 1, 1999)

Just a guess from someone who is considering the surgery... As we gained all our weight, we were often uncomfortable or even sick after eating too much at a meal or on a binge. It didn't stop us from repeating that scenario and pretty soon the pounds crept on. I imagine it's pretty much the same thing.
