I had those same ulcers, they are called stasis dematitus and are caused by
edema (swelling of the legs)
The whole back part of my left leg and the front of my right leg was
covered.
This is a very dangerous condition. A doctor at a local hospital had the
same condition, he was obese also, and died from cellulitus as a result.
I went to a dematologist at the insistance of my wife and he put me on a
combination of ointments that resolved it in about a month.
My wife probably saved my life by making me go. I kept thinking it would
clear up with neosporin.
The doc can also prescribe support hose to help with the swelling. It has
been about a year now and I still have a bruise-like stain on my legs.
You might even go to a wound care center to get help.

I have this same problem with my legs, beginning after I had a blood clot a
year and a half ago. At first I thought they were bug bites but they
wouldn't heal. A dermatologist called it post-phlebitis folliculits. He
prescribed antibiotics and an ointment. Problem is it keeps coming back. I
get it cleared up, hit increased edema with my menstrual cycle and it comes
right back. I'm using lasix mixed with zaroxylene when the swelling is
really bad, but then I'm at risk of potassium deficiency (I do take
supplements). I don't have a good answer as to how to treat it and cure it.
If anyone else does, I'd like to hear.
