and since marc I have only lost 4pds I am trying to maintain now so 4pds in

Usually your body knows when to stop losing...but if You want to stop it
yourself...Simply SLOWLY add some more carbs/high caloric foods to your
diet- I say slowly because it's VERY possible for you to put on weight. A
few months ago I was ready to stop myself..I started eatting like a little
piggy with the carbs- Well I've put on about 7 pounds (I didn't want to
GAIN, just stop losing) So gradually add carbs/calories, and carefully
watch the scale :) Congrats on your AWSOME Weight loss !!

I'd go back to your nutritionist and have them put together a maintenence
plan for you. Also, please speak with your surgeon and see that he's OK
with you maintaining at this point. You've got a lot of factors to
consider...firts, there is the normal and natural 10 to 15 pound regain
that you should expect. Will you be comfortable if you regain from where
you are now? Second, your malabsorption is still in full swing at only 6
months out, so you would have to do more to maintain your weight than, say,
someone who is 2 years out and now wants to maintain. Personally, my two
tiny cents, if you can still loose- keep on loosing down as far as you can
while still being in a normal BMI range. (You don't mention your current
BMI or if it's normal yet.) But, my best advice is to speak to your surgeon
right away!! Good luck to you and congrats on such wonderful loss.

Due to a second surgery at a year out, I lost very quickly down to an
unattractive and unhealthy weight for myself. I met with a nutritionist to
stop the loss before it got out of control. She suggested that I eat more
and more often. That I still needed to avoid the high sugar and high carb
foods. That I simply needed to eat an extra meal each day, or start
drinking with my meals. Once I started doing that, I lost maybe 5 more
pounds and stopped. I maintained that weight for a year, then got carb
greedy. So now I am trying to lose the 15lbs that the carbs brought with
them. Basically what I am saying is that I would not add high carb/high
sugar foods to your diet. It will eventually come back and bite you in the
butt.
