Question:
WLS and C-Sections????
I am pre-op but am planning on future pregnancies after WLS. I will need a c-section and I wonder if there are any possible complications from WLS and c-sections. THANKS for everyone's help in advance. — Erin K. (posted on January 18, 2004)

I do not see how there could be complications arising between the two. The
incision is in two different places. My concern would be the nutrition
factor.

I had my son by c-section and future children will be born the same one
(only 10.5 months to go before we can start trying again!). My surgeon
said there wouldn't be a concern in regards to the two surgeries since they
are in different locations. However, scar tissue can be weird and grow
wildly, but even then he said it would just mean a slower c-section (to cut
through extra tissue). The only concern is diet during pregnancy. I was
told I would be consider "high risk" because of the surgery and
would have more check-ups as a result.
